Araqchi Holds Talks with Omani Counterpart on Iran-US Negotiations

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi held a meeting with his Omani counterpart in Muscat on Friday morning to discuss the manner of advancing ongoing Iran–US negotiations.

Araqchi, who has traveled to Muscat to conduct nuclear negotiations and seek the lifting of sanctions, held a meeting this morning with Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on how to move forward with the Iran–US negotiations.

Araqchi pointed to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s approach of using diplomacy to secure the country’s national interests, while at the same time maintaining full readiness to defend Iran’s sovereignty and national security against any form of excessive demands or adventurism. He also expressed appreciation for Oman’s hosting of the talks and its good offices in this regard.

For his part, the Omani foreign minister praised the goodwill, sense of responsibility, and seriousness demonstrated by Iran in diplomatic processes.

Referring to the determination of all regional countries to prevent any escalation of tensions, Al Busaidi expressed hope that this round of talks, conducted in good faith and with timely engagement by all sides, would pave the way for a sustainable understanding between Iran and the United States.
