Pakistan prime minister hails Iran’s partnership in Islamabad talks

Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has appreciated Iran’s partnership in the Pakistani-mediated talks between Iran and the United States in Islamabad, saying his country would continue its mediating role to help establish peace and stability in the region and globally.

Sharif made the remarks during a meeting in Islamabad on Saturday with Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and other members of the Iranian delegation to Islamabad talks, according to an announcement by Pakistani Prime Minister's Office.    

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and the country’s Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir were also present at the meeting.

The Pakistani prime minister then had a meeting with US Vice President J. D. Vance who leads the US delegation to the talks./irna
