In a phone conversation on Saturday with his German counterpart Johann Wadephul, Araghchi reviewed the latest developments related to the US-Israeli military aggression against Iran, stressing the importance of responsible positions by all countries to uphold international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter.

Referring to repeated US breaches of commitments and crimes committed during the two imposed wars over the past year, Araghchi said Iran’s acceptance of a ceasefire should be appreciated by all parties.

“The decision of the Islamic Republic of Iran to accept a ceasefire … is a very responsible act that must be valued by all sides,” he said.

The German foreign minister welcomed efforts to halt the war, emphasized the need to stop Israeli attacks on Lebanon, and expressed hope that upcoming negotiations would restore peace and stability to the region.

The Iranian delegation, headed by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, landed in the Pakistani capital aboard Flight “Minab 168,” a reference to 168 schoolgirls and school staff members killed by the US military on January 28.

The talks are expected to focus on de-escalation and broader efforts to stabilize the region./irna
