Iranian Deputy FM Visits Oman for Hormuz Committee Meeting

Iran’s deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs has traveled to Oman to take part in the first meeting of the Joint Hormuz Strait Committee, focusing on the future management of the strategic waterway.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi announced on his X account that during his visit to Muscat, the first meeting of the Joint Hormuz Committee was held with Abdulaziz al-Hinai, Oman’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

He said the meeting reviewed ongoing issues related to the Strait of Hormuz and discussed its future management within the framework of article 5 of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, as well as the sovereign rights of the littoral states./tasnim
