IRGC Busts Terrorist Team in NW Iran

The operational base of the IRGC Ground Force announced in a statement that its forces have destroyed a separatist terrorist team in northwestern Iran.

According to the statement, the operation was launched after a team affiliated with anti-Iran and separatist groups entered the country’s northwestern border areas with the aim of conducting sabotage and terrorist activities.

The IRGC said its fighters identified and tracked the group through intelligence monitoring before the militants were caught in an ambush and were completely dismantled.

The clash took place in mountainous areas between the cities of Mahabad and Piranshahr with fire support from military equipment.

The statement said the six-member terrorist team was entirely eliminated during the operation, adding that the bodies of four militants, along with various weapons and equipment, were recovered by Iranian forces.

The military base warned that any attempt to undermine security along Iran’s northwestern borders will be met with a decisive response./tasnim
