During a visit to the holy city of Qom and in a meeting with members of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom, President Masoud Pezeshkian reviewed the most important developments, challenges, threats, and strategic decisions of the country over the past two years.

Pezeshkian described the resilience of the Iranian people, the sacrifice of the Armed Forces, and national cohesion in the face of enemy threats as key factors enabling the country to overcome difficult conditions.

He also emphasized that the recent memorandum of understanding with the US was concluded within the framework of Iran’s overarching policies and in full coordination with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and with the support of the Supreme National Security Council.

Referring to the negotiation process and the complexity of decision-making in this field, Pezeshkian noted that all stages of the talks were conducted within the general policies of the establishment, with continuous and full coordination with the Leader and through the country’s legal mechanisms.

The president added that despite existing limitations and security considerations, the final text of the MoU was reviewed through expert and security assessments by relevant authorities and received strong backing from members of the Supreme National Security Council.

Pezeshkian stressed that the government, throughout all stages of the negotiations, has pursued the restoration of the Iranian nation’s rights from a position of dignity, power, and protection of national interests, and that it has not and will not accept any imposed demands from adversaries under any circumstances./tasnim
