Araqchi Meets Foreign Delegations Attending Martyred Leader’s Funeral

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi held a series of meetings in Tehran with senior officials from Yemen, Palestine, Lebanon, and Serbia, who have traveled to Iran to attend the funeral of martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.

During the meetings held on Saturday, the visiting delegations conveyed condolences to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the Iranian government, and the nation over the martyrdom of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, members of his family, senior military commanders, officials, and civilians in the US-Israeli aggression against Iran.

Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister Major General Jalal Al-Ruwaishan praised Iran's resilience and its achievements on both the military and diplomatic fronts, while Araqchi thanked Yemen for its firm support of Iran during the conflict and reaffirmed Tehran's readiness to help end the blockade on Yemen and advance the country's peace roadmap.

In separate meetings with Hamas leader Mohammad Darwish, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command Secretary-General Talal Naji, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Deputy Secretary-General Jamil Mezher, and other Palestinian resistance officials, the two sides discussed the latest developments in Gaza and the West Bank and condemned the ongoing Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.

The Palestinian representatives praised Ayatollah Khamenei's lifelong support for the Palestinian cause and congratulated Iran on its victory against the US-Israeli war of aggression. Araqchi reaffirmed Iran's unwavering support for the Palestinian people, stressing that resistance and Palestinian unity would ultimately lead to the liberation of Palestine and Al-Quds.

Araqchi also met with a Hezbollah delegation headed by Mohammad Fneish, representing Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem, and an Amal Movement delegation led by Khalil Hamdan, the special representative of Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.

The Lebanese delegations expressed solidarity with Iran and praised its continued support for Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Araqchi commended the steadfastness of the Lebanese resistance and people, reaffirming Iran's commitment to ending the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, securing the withdrawal of occupying forces, and supporting the resistance.

In another meeting, Serbian Minister of Information and Telecommunications Boris Bratina, serving as the special envoy of the Serbian president, conveyed Belgrade's condolences and solidarity with Iran. The two sides also reviewed bilateral relations and reaffirmed their determination to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest, while Araqchi emphasized the importance of independent countries taking a firm stand against the unlawful actions of the United States and the Israeli regime.

The meetings took place on the sidelines of the funeral ceremonies for Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, which have drawn official delegations and dignitaries from across the region and beyond to Tehran./tasnim
