Official: Certain Mideast states seek sectarian disagreements in Iran

EghtesadOnline: Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said that certain regional sates are after sectarian and religious disagreements in Iran.
In a Tuesday meeting with Faleh al-Fayyad, the national security adviser to Iraq’s prime minister, Shamkhani stressed the need for accelerating the activities of Iran-Iraq joint committee coordinating the implementation of a bilateral border agreement, reports ISNA.
Active involvement of the joint committee in settlement of problems will contribute to economic boom along the common borders and enhance trade ties between Iran and Iraq, he added.
Shamkhani also pledged Iran’s continued support for the Iraqi government in dealing with the threat of terrorism.
The Iraqi politician, for his part, expressed gratitude to Tehran for its supports for Baghdad in the war against Daesh (ISIL) terrorists.
Iraq has been facing the growing threat of terrorism, mainly posed by Daesh.
Daesh militants made advances in northern and western Iraq over the summer of 2014, after capturing swaths of northern Syria.
Iran is known as the first country to help Iraq in its anti-terrorism campaign and has always voiced support for the Arab country’s territorial integrity, national unity and prosperity.
