Salehi: Parties to JCPOA have failed to fulfill obligations

EghtesadOnline: Iranian Vice-President and head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi said on Monday that the parties to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action have failed to fulfill their obligations.

Salehi told reporters after his speech at the 60th General Conference of International Atomic Energy Agency that Iran has implemented all its commitments after nuclear deal and the IAEA reports confirmed stages of Iranian compliance, but, the other parties to the JCPOA have not fulfilled their obligations as was expected as per the deal and Iran protested to the signatory states over the failure.

'We, also warned today that Iran expects the agency to fulfill its duty with neutrality and without influence of the big powers, especially about protection of Iran's confidential nuclear information,' Salehi added.

According to IRNA, the confidential information are of technical, industrial and trade dimensions, so they should be kept secret by the UN nuclear agency.

Vice-president Salehi called for disarmament, saying that the Non-Aligned Movement, the great international organization after the United Nations, emphasizes disarmament and the NAM member states have approved that disarmament will take place until the year 2025.

The 60th General Conference of IAEA kicked off on Monday. It will work until Friday September 30.

Representatives from 168 member states are attending the conference.
Budgetary and financial issues of the agency, including financial assistance for 'Technical Cooperation Fund' in year 2017 are to be considered in the conference.

The participants in annual meeting of IAEA, are to discuss nuclear security, strengthening efficiency of the Safeguards Agreement, implementation of the Safeguards Agreement between the agency and North Korea as well as implementation of the Safeguards in the Middle East.
