Iran signs petrochemical contract with ITOCHU

EghtesadOnline: Iran and Japan have signed a deal, worth €320 million aiming to cooperate on petrochemical projects.

According to ISNA, Iran’s Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC) and Japan’s general trading firm ITOCHU inked an agreement seeking mutual cooperation on petrochemical projects.

ITOCHU envoy hailed cooperation with Iran, saying Iran is a powerful market for petrochemical products.

He stated that there is possibility for cooperation with Iran in marketing such products as polyethylene, Shana reported.

According to petrochemical officials, companies from Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, South Korea, Japan and even the U.S. have indicated readiness to participate in Iran’s petrochemical projects.
