Iran, Armenia ready to increase electricity exchange

EghtesadOnline: Iran, Armenia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on expanding cooperation to exchange electricity.
Iran’s Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian has said the two countries aim to quadruple the capacity of electricity exchange.
According to ISNA, he delivered speech at the opening ceremony of the 14th session of Iran-Armenia Joint Commission, where the Armenian Minister of Energy Infrastructure and Natural Resources Ashot Manukyan attended too.
Chitchian stated that the capacity would grow from 300 to 1200 MWs, adding both sides discussed transferring gas in near future as well.
Iranian official expressed the country’s readiness to bolster economic cooperation with Armenia, noting the both countries enjoy the required capacity to expand all-out cooperation.
