Iran rejects reports on receiving message from US
EghtesadOnline: Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi rejected a Kuwaiti newspaper story on transfer of message from US officials to Iranian officials via Russia.
Kuwait’s al-Rai newspaper has allegedly claimed that the US had conveyed a message to Iran, threatening to attack Iranian military bases inside the country, if American soldiers in Iraq and Syria came under harm from Iranian forces, ISNA reported.
There is no formal diplomatic relations between Iran and US since 1980. Instead, Iran has an interest section at the Pakistani Embassy in Washington and the United States has maintained a corresponding interest section at the Swiss Embassy in Tehran.
