Iran condemns terror plot targeting Makkah Grand Mosque

EghtesadOnline: Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi condemned in the strongest terms the vicious terrorist plot that targeted the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
Saudi security forces on Friday foiled a suicide attack on the Grand Mosque in the Muslim holy city of Mecca, cornering the would-be attacker in an apartment, where he blew himself up, the Interior Ministry said.
Five people, including a woman, were arrested in security operations in Mecca, it added.
“The failed terror plot to attack the Grand Mosque in the Muslim holy city of Mecca showed again the unbridled terrorism that targeting the whole world, region and particularly Muslims and Islamic countries, is contrary to all religious, moral and humanitarian values and attacks even the most sacred place of Muslims around the world in order to attain its sinister goals,” ISNA quoted him as saying.
Ghasemi warned to the all governments specially the regional countries over the ominous and disgusting phenomenon, calling all the nations of the region for vigilance and unceasing efforts to combat the symbol of grudge, hatred, violence and crime.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has condemned terrorism in any form, anywhere and with any motivation and as always announces its readiness for cooperation with the other countries in fighting against terrorists,” the spokesman added.
