Tehran Housing Construction Permits Rise in H1

EghtesadOnline: The number of residential construction permits issued in Tehran during the first half of the current fiscal year to Sept. 22 has experienced an uptick, the Statistical Center of Iran said.

Based on the latest SCI report released on its official website that covers info gathered from municipalities throughout the country, Tehran Municipality issued 33,703 permits for the construction of residential units in the first half of the current year.

The figure indicates an increase of about 2.8% compared with the same period of last year, whereas the average number of residential units constructed per permit stood at 6.9.

The number of construction permits issued by Tehran Municipality in H1 stood at 4,904, which shows a 17.9% rise year-on-year, according to Financial Tribune.

More than 621,400 square meters of floor area were allowed as part of the 4,904 construction permits, which registers a decline of about 12.9% when compared with the same period of last year. 

The average area of infrastructure in such building permits was equal to 1,267 square meters in Tehran.

The SCI has also disclosed data covering the entire country.

According to its report, a total of 162,909 permits were issued by Iranian municipalities in the first half of the current year with the aim of building residential units, indicating an uptick of about 1.3% compared with the initial six months of the previous year.

The average number of residential units built per permit stood at 2.7 in this period.

A total of 60,043 permits were issued in H1 for the construction of buildings, showing an increase of about 4.6% on an annual basis.

The total sum of floor area for those permits was equal to 2,997,455 square meters, which indicates a small 0.1% increase when compared with the same period of last year.

As part of these permits, the average floor area that was built stood at 499 square meters.
