“The PTA was signed without the consultation of economic experts and businesspeople. ICCIMA has reviewed the effects of the agreement on Iran-Turkey trade for the past 10 months, the results of which will be published in the next two weeks,” Gholamreza Shafei was also quoted as saying by ICCIMA’s news portal.

Shafei added that the PTA has resulted in a trade deficit that favors Turkey.

“Iran’s automotive and textile sectors have particularly been damaged by this bilateral agreement,” Financial Tribune quoted him as saying.

The PTA between Iran and Turkey was signed in January 2014 and took effect a year later.
