Leader Thanks Medical Community for Battling COVID-19
EghtesadOnline: Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei praised Iranian health officials and personnel for their efforts to contain the novel coronavirus epidemic in the country.
In a meeting with the head of Iran’s Academy of Medical Sciences, Alireza Marandi, on Thursday, Ayatollah Khamenei thanked the health minister, his colleagues, Iranian doctors, nurses, medical staff and all personnel involved in offering health services in their conscientious battle with coronavirus, Financial Tribune reported.
“Your work is really valuable,” the Leader said, adding that such activities have raised the status of the job of physicians and nurses.
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that what is more important about the activities of the medics is the assured reward from God.
Marandi briefed the Leader on the country’s coronavirus situation and efforts underway to combat its spread.
According to Iran’s Health Ministry, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases has risen to 388, with 34 people succumbing to it.
Medical staff in 20 Iranian provinces have been working tirelessly over the past week to contain the novel coronavirus that originated from China in December.
