Iran spending rls. 100b on migrants’ vaccination every year
EghtesadOnline: Iran spends a total of rls 100 billion on vaccination of legal and illegal refugees and migrants every year, an official told IRNA on Monday.
Mohammad Mehdi Gooya who heads the Health Ministry’s center for Contagious Diseases Management said the related United Nations bodies are paying only about a quarter of the figure back to the Islamic Republic.
He further noted that Iran offered health and prevention services to refugees both out of humanitarian considerations and also to protect the Iranian nationals from any health threats.
He said refugees and migrants have access to all kinds of health services Iranian nationals enjoy.
The official said for four decades now the migrants and refugees have enjoyed equal health services with Iranians.
He referred to polio and measles as the most prevalent contagious diseases which Iran has been spending resources to control via vaccination.
