Iran to launch cell therapy pharmaceutical plant by September
EghtesadOnline: Head of Iran’s Royan Cell Therapy Center Nasser Aghdami said that the country would launch pharmaceutical plant on cell therapy by September.
He said in case the plant is launched, 5 technologies out of 14 would be commercialized.
Aghdami continued that a medical team for cell therapy has been formed in Royan Institute which is after turning the knowledge into technology and has been following the process of commercialization.
He said that the financial flow of cell therapy and stem cells totaled $4 billion by 2011 and the amount is expected to hit $6 billion in 2020.
Aghdami said that Iran has held talks with local and foreign companies for building the cell therapy firm, adding Iran eventually finalized talks with an Italian company.
He said that the Italian company had agreed to build the firm based on Iranian intended design.
He also said that Iran has also started talks for exporting cell-therapy expertise to regional, European and southeastern Asia.
He also said that Iran is going to sign a deal with Malaysia for the goal, based on which a joint company financed by Malaysia would be established for producing cellular products.
