Yemen to respond Saudis' crimes in battlefields: SNSC official
EghtesadOnline: A senior Iranian official said here on Sunday that without doubt the brave Yemeni army and the popular forces would respond strongly the Al Saud crimes and its allies in the battlefields.
Talking to IRNA, the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said the Yemeni army and popular forces would counter Riyadh's air strikes that targeted a crowded funeral ceremony in the Yemeni capital Sana'a in the battlefields.
Shamkhani underscored that the US government is the main partner of Saudi Arabia's ruler Salman bin Abdulaziz Saudis' crimes in his blatant killing of the defenseless Yemeni people.
Commenting on the US' massive and unrestricted sale of advanced weaponry to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, he added although Washington is fully aware of Riyadh's employment of American armaments for massacring the Yemeni innocent women and children, it has expanded the type and volume of its dispatched weapons to the Saudi army.
He also described the statement of UN Committee on the Rights of the Child for condemning the Saudi government's role in massacring the Yemeni children as a 'weak' reaction to the brutal behavior of Riyadh and its allies.
Shamkhani noted the western public opinion should be aware of Al Saud large-scale crimes that are directly supported by the US and show reaction to such crimes stridently.
He also described Yemen's attacks on an Emirati military vessel as an indication of safeguarding the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity against an invading country.
According to media reports, Saudi warplanes have carried out airstrikes targeting a crowded funeral ceremony for the father of Jalal al-Roweishan, the interior minister in the Yemeni government.
At least 150 people were killed in the attack. The Saudi jets conducted at least nine airstrikes on Khamis street in southern Sana’a.
The number of casualties is highly likely to rise. Over 500 people have reportedly been injured.
