According to IRNA, Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Ivory Coast Foreign Minister Abdullah Albert Toikeusse Mabri.

Zarif called for further cooperation between the two countries in the international organizations, particularly in the fight against drug trafficking.

The Ivory Coast foreign minister, for his part, congratulated the successful settlement of Iran's nuclear dispute, saying it was a victory for the entire Islamic Ummah.

Noting that Iran is a big power in the region, Mabri expressed hope that the Iran-Ivory Coast Joint Economic Commission will be held in Abidjan over the first quarter of 2017.

He said that Iran can be a key ally for Ivory Coast, particularly as a major energy supplier.
