Azar oil field to yield 30,000 bpd oil by May
EghtesadOnline: Managing Director and head of the board of managers of Oil Development and Engineering Company Nureddin Shahnazizadeh says joint Azar oil field's production capacity will reach 30,000 barrels per day as of May.
Shahnazizadeh told reporters on Wednesday that the field's production capacity following commissioning of the early production project will reach 15,000 barrels by end of this year.
He noted that the field, which is common with Iraq, contains 2.5 billion barrels of in-situa crude and up to 400,000,000 barrels are estimated to be extracted from the field.
He added that by end of the year 1397 (2018-19), the capacity of oil extraction from Azar oil field will reach 65,000 a day.
According to IRNA, the official said the project for development of the field had been entrusted to Norwegian Statoil and Russian Gazprom but since the two gave up, National Iranian Oil Company undertook the development project.
