Talking to IRNA, Director General of the Judiciary's Tehran Province Office Gholam Hossein Esmaeili denied Homa Hoodfar's claims as 'unfounded' and made as a result of animosity and hatred toward the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Esmaeili dismissed as “sheer lies and untrue” the retired professor of Canadian universities claims that she had been under psychological pressures including music torture.

He added the facilities for playing music and sound system are very limited in the Iranian prisons and they are used just for giving information.

Hoodfar was detained in Iran in June for security charges.

On Sept 26, Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said Hoodfar was released on humanitarian grounds, including her illness.
