Presence of Iran's military advisors in regional states crucial in fighting terrorism: Official
EghtesadOnline: Special Aide to Majlis Speaker for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian underlined Iran's resolve for restoring security and peace to the region, saying that presence of the Iranian military advisors in regional states have crucial role in campaign against terrorism.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Swiss Deputy Foreign Minister Eve Rosse.
Amir-Abdollahian said that Iran believes in political settlement to the regional and international crises and has never spared efforts in this respect, reports IRNA.
Certain military advisors who were helping the Iraqi and Syrian governments at their own requests were martyred during their stay in the military camps, he said.
Criticizing the US and its blatant military interventions in other countries, he said that repeated mistakes of the US and its allies have created chaos in the region and promoted terrorism in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Libya and other countries in the Middle East and North Africa.
Describing terrorism as the major threat to all countries, he said that if all the countries do not have serious and collective cooperation to counter terrorism, peace and security in the region will be at risk.
Rosse, for his part, expressed pleasure with his visit to Tehran, saying that Iranian contribution to regional peace and security is remarkable.
Swiss officials always welcome Iran's joint measures in line with promoting peace and security in the region, he said.
The Swiss official further noted that Switzerland has always considered diplomacy as the only approach to resolve crises.
