Iran implements 80 nanotechnology projects in agriculture

EghtesadOnline: A member of Iranian Research Institute of Plant Protection AliMorad Sarafrazi said more than 80 research projects on using Nanotechnology in different areas of agriculture are underway in the country.

He stated that agriculture department has taken significant steps in preparing the grounds for using nanotechnology in agriculture and manufacturing products, according to IRNA.

Sarafrazi underlined that the department is making all-out effort to increase the production of nano-pesticides and nano-fertilizers and also reduce the agricultural wastes by nano-based packages.

He went on to say that water is another important priority for the department, adding nanotechnology can also help the reduction of water pollution.

Sarafrazi underscored that using nanotechnology products can help the Iranian researchers to change polluted water into potable one for public consumption, adding besides 80 research projects, 11 more are currently being studies and would be finalized soon.
