Mekdad thanks Iran, Hezbollah for helping Syria overcome terrorists
EghtesdaOnline: Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad on Monday thanked Iran and Hezbollah of Lebanon for helping Syria overcome the terrorists fighting against troops of the Syrian government.
He made the remarks after meeting with head of Strategic Research Center affiliated to the Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati, reports IRNA.
Mekdad told reporters that lackeys of the Zionist regime, the United States and Saudis are involved in carrying out ominous conspiracies against the Syrian government.
He said that the US-backed terrorists are fighting against the Syrian government to serve interests of the Zionist regime and US imperialism, so they operate in unison with Daesh and other terrorist groups.
'I promise to stay in Syria with the resistance movement to drive out the terrorists from our territory,' Mekdad said.
The Syrian deputy foreign minister said that Iraq and Syria have common enemy, so that there are a common front in the two countries against terrorism.
Mekdad appreciated bravery and courage of the volunteer forces in Iraq, saying that Syrians stand by the Iraqi fighters against terrorists.
