Iran participates in 2nd World Grain Forum in Russia
EghtesadOnline: The 2nd World Grain Forum started work in the presence of hundreds of state and private sector delegations including one from the Iranian agricultural Jihad on November 18 in Sochi, Russia.
Iranian delegation is headed by Deputy Minister of Agricultural Jihad Ali Ghanbari.
Different issues like those related to agriculture and food security in the world are to be reviewed during the two-day event, IRNA reported.
Achieving greater efficiency in cultivation, evaluating consumer market and future requirements, taking advantage of new technologies in cultivation, planting and harvesting, paying attention to food poverty and lack of grains in some areas of the world are among the issues to be discussed by experts there.
The event is held in partnership with international organizations active in agriculture, namely Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
Speaking in a meeting with the Iranian delegation, Orlov governor general emphasized boosting agricultural ties in different fields like in exports and imports, establishing cooperation with Iran's Hormuzgan province.
The Russian official further called for import of Iranian agricultural products to Orlov province.
