UN resident coordinator summoned to Foreign Ministry
EghtesadOnline: United Nations Resident Coordinator Gary Lewis was called in to the Foreign Ministry on Monday in protest to his 'unconventional and interventionist' statements .
According to IRNA, Director General of the International Affairs, Environment Protection and Sustainable Development Department of Foreign Ministry acknowledged the complaint to Lewis.
The Foreign Ministry official told Lewis that the specialized agencies of the United Nations in the Islamic Republic of Iran including the UN and the UNDP should operate in the context of their specialized tasks.
Lewis assured that the United Nations agencies in the Islamic Republic of Iran are focused on their specialized areas of operation and development plans in full coordination with respective Iranian organizations.
