Land mine kills shepherd in west of Iran
EghtesadOnline: An official with Qasr-e Shirin Governorate said that explosion of a land mine remaining from Iraq's imposed war on Iran in 1980-88 claimed a shepherd's life.
Qasr-e Shirin Deputy Governor General for political and social affairs Nematollah Nazparvardeh told IRNA on Wednesday that in the wake of the mine explosion a 40-year-old shepherd was killed while he was feeding animals in Cham Naft town in Qasr-e Shirin.
He noted that some 15 mine explosions have taken place since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 20) as a result of which 9 people have been injured.
