Iranian Football Federation to review Queiroz' resignation

EghtesadOnline: Iranian Football Federation (FFI) presiding board is to convene today evening to review the resignation of Carlos Queiroz, head coach of Iran's national football team, it was reported on Sunday.

News ID: 773014

According to media reports, the board of directors of Iran's Football Federation received the Portuguese coach’s resignation letter on Saturday (Jan 7,2017).

After the football club Persepolis head coach Branko Ivankovic censured Queiroz over holding a training camp in Dubai, the UAE, the Portuguese coach blew his cool and expelled seven Persepolis’ players from the camp in response to Ivankovich remarks, IRNA reported.

Ivankovic had announced that the Persepolis’ players need to take a break in mid-season instead of attending an ineffective camp.

Queiroz has so far resigned several times, but the Iranian Football Federation has always rejected them.
