After lifting of sanctions, Tehran–Islamabad trading problems are over; ambassador

EghtesadOnline: Pakistani ambassador to Iran, stressing on Iran and Pakistan’s long political, trade and security relations history, said that since the sanctions are lifted, the problem of Tehran – Islamabad trade is over.

Asif Ali Khan Durrani praised prospect of Iran and Pakistan’s trade and economic relations in an interview with ILNA correspondent and said that the two countries have a history of close relations and the power of each side is the power of the other.

Iran and Pakistan have old and great, political, trade and security relations and since the lifting of sanctions, most of the Tehran – Islamabad trade problems are over, he stressed.  

Pakistan ambassador appreciated Iran’s never-ending support of Kashmir people and Tehran’s highlighting of their right in liberty and the right for determining their fate.    

He described banking issues as the only trouble in trade and economic relations between the two countries and added that he hopes, with the solving of international banking problems and the elimination of obstacles that Iran faced, the two sides would be able to develop their trade and economic relations.

Pakistani ambassador also announced that Iran and Pakistan gas pipeline project which is known as Peace Pipeline has been speeded up.  With the pursuit of construction of such pipeline, which so far mainly has been built, we hope that in near future the operations of Iran gas export to Pakistan would begin, he stressed.
