Iran unveils new multi-purpose helicopter Saba 248
EghtesadOnline: Iran has unveiled a new multi-purpose helicopter designed by Iranian helicopter modernization experts.
The ceremony to unveil the new helicopter named Saba 248 was held on Tuesday in the presence of Iranian defense minister Hossein Dehghan.
Iran’s Helicopter Renovation and Logistics Company (PANHA), associated with the defense ministry’s Aviation Industries Organization, has designed and manufactured the aircraft, ISNA reported.
“We are honored to unveil an important project in the year of Resistance Economy: Action and Implementation,” Dehghan said during this ceremony.
The four-bladed Saba-248 has two engines but it’s capable of operating with just one, and that it can fly in temperatures ranging from minus 25 to 55 degrees Celsius.
“Saba 248 is a medium-weight helicopter, capable of carrying eight occupants.The military hardware is able to participate in cargo and passenger transport missions as well as rescue, photographing and reconnaissance operations,” Dehghan added.
“The helicopter would be offered at a competitive price to international market especially Islamic countries based on military and civilian demands of customers,” he said.
