Iran to produce 70 million liter gasoline per day
EghtesadOnline: Iran’s average gasoline production will increase to more than 70 million liters per day day, said Deputy Minister of Petroleum Abbas Kazemi on Monday.
“The country’s average gasoline production is currently 62 million liters per day, which would hit 64 million liters after a 2 million liter MTB gasoline is added to it, Kazemi, also managing director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Tuesday.
According to IRNA, officials have earlier said that with the inauguration of the first stage of Persian Gulf Star refinery of gas condensates, Iran will become self-sufficient in producing gasoline.
The official also pointed out that with two gasoline production units becoming online, the amount would exceed 70 million litter per day.
Kazemi also predicted that the average gasoline consumption in Iran will increase to 76-78 million liters per day, due to 1.3 million more cars on the streets last year, as well as the economic growth in the country.
