Iran to Break Rail-Track Laying Record
EghtesadOnline: A total of 516 kilometers of new rail tracks will be laid by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2018), which will be an all-time record, Jabbarali Zakeri, the deputy head of Construction and Development of Transportation Infrastructure Company, was quoted as saying by ILNA.
Iran has 3,500 kilometers of railroads under construction. The 20-Year Vision Plan (2005-25) stipulates that the number of passengers using rail transportation in Iran will annually increase from the current 25 million to 65 million, according to Financial Tribune.
