Iran against US interventionist policies: Spokesman
EghtesadOnline: The US officials consider Iran’s independent and illuminating policies toward the regional and international developments as threats to their business-like and interventionist objectives, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi on Wednesday.
“Accusing Iran of the violation of the spirit of JCPOA by the American side happens at a time when within the past two years the US government, through its tension-creating measures and policies, has always acted contrary to its commitments to JCPOA which are its ‘successful’ implementation based upon ‘good will’,” said Bahram Ghasemi.
According to IRNA, he made the remarks in reaction to Heather Nauert, the US State Department Spokesperson’s statements that had claimed, in a press conference on Tuesday, the US believes Iran violates the spirit of the JCPOA.
“The US government has always tried, directly or indirectly, to put a spoke in the wheel of the Islamic Republic to gain the profit from the JCPOA and Iran has raised the US government behaviors in the joint commission of the JCPOA many times,” he added.
The US State Department Spokesperson had also claimed, with regard to JCPOA supposed role to provide peace and security in the region, that the US believes some measures taken by Iran weaken the peace and international security.
Ghasemi rejected any accusation of causing instability by Iran and called it a false and void claim and stressed that “Iran is the oldest and the most historical country in the region and thousands years of history of the region is ingrained with Iran and due to this, we have always considered the peace and stability of the region as our own.”
“In the Islamic Republic of Iran’s opinion, the real threat to the security, stability and development of our region is the US interventions in the internal affairs of the countries aiming at destabilizing and causing insecurity with particular purposes,” he reiterated.
