Jordan, Tehran cooperate in agriculture
EghtesadOnline: Head of Agricultural Jihad Organization of Tehran province Ali Ashraf Mansouri in a meeting with Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Jordan Mahmud al-Jamaani on Tuesday discussed ways to expand agricultural exchanges and implementation of training courses.
The meeting took place in Jordan Agriculture Ministry in Amman and Iran's political attaché at the embassy Abdullah Rajabali-zadeh was present in the meeting.
The two sides talked about their agricultural capacities and ways to boost exchanges and holding training courses, according to IRNA.
Mansouri said that Iran produces 117 million tons of agricultural crops annually and in past year exported around 6 million tons of its different agricultural crops to other countries.
He also pointed to production and export capabilities and capacities of Tehran province in the field of agriculture.
Al-Jamaani also presented a report on agricultural capacities of Jordan and underlined bilateral and trilateral cooperation through Iraq and declared that Jordan may import vegetables from Iran.
He added that water is one of the main problems of Jordan and requested Iran's help in this concern.
Al-Jamaani also expressed his country's readiness to participate in agricultural exhibitions and expressed the hope that in the field of production of date and olive siblings can have cooperation with Iran.
