Larijani: Banking transactions key to Iran-Belarus commercial ties
EghtesadOnline: Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Saturday underlined that banking transactions are the key to activation of Iran-Belarus commercial relations.
Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with Speaker of National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich, who is here to attend President Hassan Rouhani's swearing-in ceremony, IRNA reported.
Larijani said fortunately Iran and Belarus have held good and positive consultations in international forums and have had good cooperation, which will absolutely help bolstering the ties.
Larijani then urged Iran-Belarus cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, education, science and medicine and said in light of expansion of cooperation and engagement between the two sides in the future, their cooperation and ties in the sectors should expand.
He also pointed to measures taken in connection with Iran-Azerbaijan-Russia-Belarus-Lithuania railway project and said, 'In my prior visit, the issue was discussed and fortunately, the issue was investigated and absolutely enforcement of the project will be in favor of all countries.'
Myasnikovich, underlining scientific and educational cooperation, especially cooperation in the health and medication sectors, hoped for further expansion of the cooperation.
The Belarussian speaker said his government is busy trying to improve the system of inter-banking payment with Iran and there is no special impediment on the way and fortunately good measures have been taken in that connection.
