Oscar 2018: Iran evaluating 10 films

EghtesadOnline: An Iranian committee is evaluating a list of 10 films to pick Iran’s submission to the 90th Academy Awards for the best foreign-language film category.

Directors Sirus Alvand, Mohammad Bozorgnia, Kamal Tabrizi and Rasul Sadr-Ameli, actor Reza Kianian and musician Majid Entezami are among the members of the committee selected by Iran’s Farabi Cinema Foundation.

Among 103 films featured in the list of films, the members of the delegation selected ten films for further review, according to ISNA.

Here is the list of 10 Iranian films:

“My Brother Khosrow” directed by Ehsan Biglari

“Twenty-One Days Later” by Mohammadreza Kheradmandan

“A House on 41st Street” by Hamidreza Qorbani

“Subdued” by Hamid Nematollah

“Red Nail Polish” by Seyyed Jamal Seyyed-Hatami

“The Midday Event” by Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian

“Malaria” by Parviz Shahbazi

“Breath” by Narges Abyar

“Inversion” by Behnam Behzadi

“The Villa Tenants” by Monir Qeidi

The 90th Academy Awards ceremony will take place in Los Angeles, California on March 4, 2018.

The deadline for submissions is October 2, and the Academy will announce the accepted eligible films at a later date.
