“Ava” wins FIPRESCI prize at Toronto International Film Festival
EghtesadOnline: Iranian film “Ava” directed by Sadaf Foroughi won the choice of the international critics (FIPRESCI prize) in the Discovery section of the Toronto International Film Festival.
The FIPRESCI prize went to “Ava” which participated in the competition section of the Toronto International Film Festival, according to ISNA.
"Ava," is a joint product of Iran, Canada and Qatar and Sadaf Foroughi's first feature film won the prize while its two actresses denied entry to Canada because the Canadian embassy in Turkey prevented the teens from attending Friday's TIFF premiere of "Ava."
This film is a drama that tells the story of a 17 year old girl who decides to influence the life of her family, her friends and herself.
The 42nd edition of the Toronto International Film Festival was held September 7-17 in Canada.
