IMIDRO’s Coal Concentrate Output Up 36%

EghtesadOnline: Iran’s two major coal companies produced 303,440 tons of coal concentrates in the five months since the beginning of the current fiscal year (March 21-Aug. 22), recording a 36% growth compared with last year’s similar period, Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization reported.

Tabas Parvadeh Coal Company produced 262,818 tons of the total figure, while Central Alborz Coal Company’s output stood at 40,622 tons. The two companies also extracted a total of 766,351 tons of coal in the five-month period to post a 13% year-on-year growth. TPCCO located in South Khorasan Province and CACCO in Mazandaran Province are both subsidiaries of IMIDRO. South Khorasan Province’s Tabas region is home to about 55-76% of Iran’s coal reserves, with estimated proven coal reserves of 2.5 billion tons, Financial Tribune reported.
