Iran, Armenia should ink security, cyber defense MoU: Min

EghtesadOnline: Iran’s Minister of Communications Mohammad Javad Azari-Jahromi announced establishment of a committee to pursue implementation of Tehran-Yerevan agreements, saying that the two should sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on security and cyber defense.

After a meeting with the Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of Armenia Vahan Martirosyan on Monday, he told reporters that among issues to be pursued are cyber security agreements between the two countries.

Memorandum of understanding (MoU) on defense cyber against the attacks is among the significant issues which should be prepared for signing by the two countries, IRNA quoted him as saying.

Stressing the need for increasing postal exchanges between Tehran and Yerevan, Azari-Jahromi said that efforts are underway to promote postal exchanges with other countries via Armenia.

He also called for increasing commercial exchanges between the two countries.

Martirosyan also told reporters that his country will endeavor to promote cooperation with Iran in the post and communications transit sector.

He further noted that efforts would be made to boost cooperation in other fields such as technological and cybernetic information.

Given the establishment of a committee to pursue implementation of the MoUs, he said, the panel should take actions on holding bilateral gatherings.
