Export increases by 23% from Qeshm Island Customs office
EghtesadOnline: Director General of Qeshm Island Customs Office Hossein Saeedi said on Monday that 22,095 tons of goods worth 622,917 dollars have been exported in the first half of the current year (Iranian calendar year started March 21, 2017).
Saeedi said that the figures have shown a 23 percent rise in value and 117 percent in weight as compared with the same period of the preceding year.
According to IRNA, he said that in the same period 20,907 tons of goods worth 97.734 million dollars have been imported, which in comparison with the same period of year before shows decline of 36 percent in weight and 44 percent in value.
Saeedi continued that in the first six months of the year more than 702 tons of goods were transited through this customs office worth 184.112 billion rial which was 75 percent less in weight and 47 percent in value as compared with the same period last year.
He said that foreign transit entered to Qeshm Customs office in this period were 19 406 tons worth 4.474.591 billion rial which showed decline for 33 percent by weight and 23 percent by value.
Qeshm Island with 150,000 populations is located in south of Hormozgan province and in the Persian Gulf.
