Iran to hold 2nd international, 10th national Neurogenetic congress
EghtesadOnline: The 2nd International and 10th National Iranian Neurogenetic congress will be held February 21-23, 2018 in Mashhad, Iran with scientists from many countries in attendance.
“This congress is aimed at bringing scientists and clinicians together from various fields of neurology and genetics to expand our knowledge and understanding of neuroscience, neurobiology, and genetics with future implications for development of new diagnostic strategies with advanced technologies to improve disease prevention, management and treatment,” scientific chair of the congress, Dr. Morteza Saeidi said in an exclusive interview.
He added that additionally, an important consideration should be taken with guidelines for ethical issues and corporate responsibilities during this congress, according to ISNA.
The congress is hosted by Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (MUMS), Iranian Academic Center for Education, Culture, and Research (ACECR), and Iranian Neurogenetic Society.
“Many renowned keynote speakers from around the world will share their findings over the course of the conference. Scientists at all levels and in every field will give presentations, hold poster sessions, or submit questions on a variety of subjects,” faculty member of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences said.
"We have invited well-known scientists from many countries such as Germany, UK and Canada,” he added.
According to Saeidi, “We want to examine the evolution of neurogenetics, create opportunities for interactions between geneticists and neurologist community and expand Iran’s interdisciplinary field of human genetics and neurology by strengthening the existing and developing new research collaborations both nationally and internationally”.
He continued that the congress will cover a wide range of topics including neurogenomics and neuroepigenetics, new genes and mechanisms in intellectual disabilities, genetic basis of neuromuscular disorders, Genetic basis of epilepsy and etc.
He also said abstract submission deadline was extended to December 6th, 2017.
“Genetics has never been more central than it is today to the national and international conversations surrounding science and its application in health, law and teaching” he noted.
The congress will be held in the main congress hall of Sepid Congress Complex located in Khaghani Ave in Mashhad, Iran.
