Mazandaran Fish Output Up 11%
EghtesadOnline: In latest fishing season (Oct. 12, 2017-April 4), output in the northern Mazandaran Province bordering the Caspian Sea amounted to around 2,400 tons, showing an 11% increase compared with the year before, the caretaker of Mazandaran Fisheries Organization announced.
“This amount of fish was worth 600 billion rials (around $12 million), indicating a 39% rise year-on-year,” Valiollah Mohammadzadeh was quoted as saying by IRNA.
According to the official, due to the low temperature of Caspian Sea water, the fish are not ready for reproduction yet, therefore, this year the fishing season will be extended by 10 days, according to Financial Tribune.
