Iran Aluminum Output Up 10%
EghtesadOnline: Iran’s major aluminum companies produced an aggregate of 151,691 tons of aluminum products during the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Aug. 22), which indicates a 10% increase compared with last year’s corresponding period, Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization reported.
Flagship producer Iran Aluminum Company accounted for 74,764 tons of the total figure, followed by Hormozal Aluminum Company with 47,286 tons and Almahdi Aluminum Company with 29,641 tons.
Iran Alumina Company produced 102,268 tons of aluminum upstream products during the five-month period, Financial Tribune reported.
Iran has a current aluminum nameplate capacity of 457,000 tons per year, of which about 437,000 tons are operational, according to Metal Bulletin.
The country is planning to increase annual production to 1.5 million tons by 2025.
