$63m FDI in W. Azarbaijan Province in Seven Years
EghtesadOnline: The northwestern province of West Azarbaijan has attracted foreign direct investments worth $63 million during the seven years of Hassan Rouhani’s presidency (August 2013-20).
“The figure pertains to 34 economic projects, which is a record high for the province compared with the previous years,” Nader Sadeqi, the province’s deputy governor, told IRNA.
“The projects have created 14,340 direct and indirect jobs in the region. A total of 35.28 trillion rials [$157 million] in domestic investment have been made in the province during the seven-year period,” he added.
The investments have been made in a wide range of sectors, including food and agriculture, automotive, household appliances, handicrafts, medical equipment, construction, mining and petrochemicals.
