Iran, Thailand foreign ministers discuss Palestine situation
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Thai counterpart held a meeting in Doha, the capital of Qatar, to discuss the current situation of Palestine.
During the meeting, the top Thai diplomat expressed concern over the recent developments in the Gaza Strip, asking Amir-Abdollahian to assist in the release of Thai citizens who were detained in the conflict. He also invited his Iranian counterpart to visit Thailand.
Amir-Abdollahian, for his part, said that he will convey his message to Hamas officials.
The Hamas movement is a liberation movement that does not seek to take people hostage, the Iranian foreign minister said.
Referring to his meeting with Hamas high-ranking officials earlier on Tuesday, Amir-Abdollahian said that Hamas officials have emphasized that if the non-stop attacks of the Zionist regime on Gaza stop, they are ready to immediately review such requests and take action to release such citizens. / MEHR
