Operation against Israel More Successful Than Expected: IRGC Chief
Authentic reports about the Iranian missiles that have hit the Israeli targets indicate that the retaliatory operation launched by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has been considerably more successful than expected, IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami said.
EghtesadOnline: In comments on Sunday morning, the IRGC chief gave details of the punitive mission “Operation True Promise” that Iran carried out in the wee hours of Sunday in retaliation for the Israeli airstrike on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus on April 1.
“We carried a limited operation, which was commensurate with the Zionist regime’s evil acts. It could have been more widespread, but we confined the operation to that section of the Zionist regime’s facilities that had been used for attacking our embassy (in Damascus),” the general explained.
“The operation has been carried out more successfully than expected. The information on the missiles hitting the targets are not complete yet, but part of the impacts about which we have accurate, documented and ground reports illustrate that the operation has been accomplished with greater-than-expected success,” the commander added, noting that the residents of the occupied territories, the Zionist regime’s officials and army, and the US have recognized how crushing Iran’s blows have been.
The IRGC commander advised the Israeli regime to change its behavior and learn a lesson from Iran’s action.
He also warned the Zionist regime that any reaction would trigger Iran’s much harsher response, as they have already experienced the Islamic Republic’s capabilities.
The IRGC said in a statement that its Aerospace Force has launched tens of missiles and drones in retaliation for the Israeli regime’s April 1 airstrike that killed several Iranian military commanders and advisers in Syria.
It added that the missiles successfully hit targets inside occupied territories. / Tasnim
