Pakistan Extols Role of Ayatollah Khamenei in Muslim World
Lauding Iran’s support for Palestine, the foreign minister of Pakistan said the Islamic world is in need of leaders like Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
EghtesadOnline: Muhammad Ishaq Dar held a meeting with Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi in Islamabad on Monday.
Welcoming the Iranian president and his entourage, the Pakistani minister highlighted the importance of Ayatollah Khamenei for the Islamic Ummah, especially regarding the Palestinian issue, and stated, "The Islamic Ummah needs leaders like the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Expressing Pakistan’s readiness for extensive and constructive cooperation with Iran, Ishaq Dar noted, "The Islamic Ummah needs unity and strengthening of solidarity today more than ever.”
For his part, the Iranian president said the relations between the two countries are beyond mere neighborliness and are based on brotherhood and deep and historical ties that connect the hearts and beliefs of the two nations.
"Although the strengthening of Iran-Pakistan relations is not desired by some outsiders, due to the diverse, numerous and mutually existing capacities, the relations between the two Islamic countries should be developed further in order to secure the interests of the two nations,” Raisi added, his official website reported.
He stated that if all Islamic countries and nations are united with each other, the Zionist regime won’t be able to oppress the innocent and defenseless Palestinians in Gaza to such an extent.
"The Zionists are exploiting the disagreements between the Islamic countries, therefore against the enemy's strategy for the continuation of the disagreements among the Islamic Ummah, our strategy is unity,” he added.
Heading a high-ranking political and economic delegation, the Iranian president arrived in Islamabad on Monday morning at the official invitation of his Pakistani counterpart.
He will later pay a visit to Sri Lanka. / Tasnim
