Iran Sugar Self-Sufficiency

EghtesadOnline: More than 8.1 million tons of sugarbeet have been produced in Iran so far this year, of which 1.95 million tons of sugar have been extracted, the manager of Sugar Beet Project carried out by the Agriculture Ministry said.

EghtesadOnline: The government aims to achieve self-sufficiency in sugar production by 2021, the head of Public Relations Center with the Ministry of Agriculture said.

EghtesadOnline: Iran can achieve self-sufficiency in sugar production within the next four years provided domestic factories are equipped with up-to-date machinery.
