EghtesadOnline: A total of 5.4 million tons of cargo has transited through Iran during the first seven months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Oct. 22), an official with the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development said.

EghtesadOnline: More than 4 million tons of goods were transited in Iran during the first five months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), registering a 24% increase compared with the corresponding period of last year, the director general of Transit and International Transportation Office of the Islamic Republic of Iran Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization said.

EghtesadOnline: More than 3 million tons of transit cargo was transported in Iran during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21-July 22), registering a 15.3% rise compared with the similar period of a year before, according to an official with the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, Reza Nafisi.

EghtesadOnline: Based on figures released by Iran’s Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization, Shahid Rajaei Port in the city of Bandar Abbas in the southern province of Hormozgan accounted for 39% (more than 2.95 million tons of goods) of all cargo transit in Iran during the 11 months to February 18.

EghtesadOnline: Railroads hold a 10.2% share in Iran’s cargo transit, the deputy head of Islamic Republic of Iran Railways said.
